What Do You Need To Clean UPVC Windows?
You can find a few specialised cleaners on the market for UPVC; however, you’ll get a good finish with a spray bottle, warm soapy water and a microfibre cloth.

How To Clean UPVC Window Frames
To keep your windows looking their best, it’s time to give them some attention. Luckily, this isn’t too much of a tough job.
Firstly, wipe over your window frames with a damp cloth to remove the top layer of dirt. You can also use an old paintbrush, or even the brush attachment of your vacuum, to remove cobwebs and dirt from the little nooks of your window that are hard to get with a cloth. This is the best way to prevent scratching when you’re wiping the frames.
Spray your warm, soapy window solution onto the UPVC frames and leave them to soak for about 10 minutes to lift any remaining dirt. You want to avoid using anything too strong or abrasive, as this can damage the UPVC over time.
Then, use a soft cloth to gently wipe away dirt, working your way around the whole frame. Pay special attention to the areas where dirt builds up, such as in the corners and joins. If you find any stubborn marks, a little extra pressure should get rid of them. Just avoid scrubbing too hard, in case it leaves scratches.
Once done, rinse off soapy residue and clean water and use a new cloth to wipe over the frames again. You can follow this up with a dry cloth to dry the frame and prevent water spots.
If your windows are opening, make sure to also wipe around the hinges and rubber seals, as these places are great spots for collecting dirt. Keeping them clean will make sure that your windows continue to open and close smoothly.
How Should I Fix Yellowing Window Frames?
Older UPVC frames can yellow with age. If this is a quality issue, you cannot restore the whiteness. This is the same case with frames cleaned in the past with an abrasive product or a scouring pad.
