How Seal Lite are Championing Sustainability with Support from Positive Planet
In today’s world sustainability should be at the heart of all we do, and everyone has a responsibility to help preserve our planet.
That’s why at Seal-Lite we recently teamed up with Positive Planet, to help us in our mission to reduce our carbon footprint and achieve our goal of becoming net zero.
Achieving net zero means you don’t release more greenhouse gases into the Earth’s atmosphere through activities like burning fossil fuels than the amount you take out, helping to combat climate change.
Who are Positive Planet?
Launched with the view that climate change presents a need for businesses like ourselves to future-proof operations, they’re working alongside our team at Seal-Lite to ensure we continue manufacturing and installing quality products that can be enjoyed for generations to come.

What steps are we taking at Seal-Lite?
Recycling Everything
We’re proud to recycle everything we use on-site, meaning we prevent waste from finding its way to landfills, and ultimately into our oceans, protecting marine life.
This commitment is followed in every stage of our process, from initially fabricating our uPVC and aluminium products in our manufacturing facilities, to eventually installing them at the homes of our customers.
On top of this, we send skips of our mixed waste to a dedicated waste partner. They then break it down, and successfully recycle over 99% of it, making sure everything we use in our process is put to good use.
Energy Efficient Products
Given that we manufacture our products in-house, we have full control over their specifications and features.
They’re all designed with energy efficiency in mind, by utilising sustainable windows that have Low-E glass and exceptional thermal efficiency that works to reduce your energy consumption and lower energy bills.
Whether it’s our French doors, composite doors, bi-fold doors, or windows such as casement and sliding sash, you can rest assured that a Seal-Lite product will work naturally to keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
uPVC Recycling Technology
We utilise recycled content that guarantees surface appearance, finish quality, and depth of gloss, which ensures that the surface has no pits or extrusion lines.
Sound too good to be true? It’s possible thanks to Ecotech, a ground-breaking application of uPVC recycling technology adapted by Aluplast.
Through the process, recycled and virgin materials are extruded simultaneously through a single dye to create a profile, locking the recycling material away from the frame.
This sustainable construction creates a new generation of environmentally friendly uPVC windows and doors, with no loss of quality.
Our Rooftop Solar Panel System
At Seal-Lite, being environmentally conscious is nothing new. Over seven years ago, we took the step of installing our very own PV rooftop solar panel system.
Installed by a local company called Solarsense, it successfully supplies over 50% of our energy requirements, reducing our use of fossil fuels and helping to combat climate change.
At the same time, in around 2016, we switched off all lighting in our factory and offices in favour of low powered LED systems – this too reduced our overall energy usage, as we decided as a company that we wanted to play our part in helping our planet.
Why are Positive Planet needed?
Positive Planet works to bridge the gap between good environmental intentions to help with our climate crisis and concrete action.
Many small and medium-sized businesses want to be more sustainable but lack the expertise to implement effective strategies, so Positive Planet helps us and others with this.
Businesses are significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions and resource depletion, so by adopting environmentally-friendly practices they can reduce their carbon footprint.
